THE APPROPRIATENESS OF “WHEN ENGLISH RINGS A BELL” USED BY SMP NEGERI 7 TOWARD 2013 CURRICULUM

The purposes of the study is to know the relevance of “When English Rings a Bell” with Curriculum 2013, which is published by the Central of Curriculum and Book Matters. The design of this research is qualitative research especially content analysis. Documentation and human instrument were used in this researched. The data source was an English Textbook published in 2014 by the Central of Curriculum and Book Matters. The data analysis used Bloom’s Taxonomy in terms Cognitive Aspects and Psychomotor Aspects. The data collection started from 1 until 29 February 2016. The findings showed the textbook is relevant with Curriculum 2013 and English Standard Competence. There are six chapters and 17 sub-chapters in the first semester, also six chapters and 20 sub-chapters in the second semester according to the materials. There are two sections in this research. The result also shows that all chapters and sub-chapters are relevant with Curriculum 2013 in term of Cognitive Aspects and Psychomotor Aspects. Therefore, it can be concluded that the textbook in general has met the criteria of a good textbook, for all The Knowledge Domain, Cognitive Aspects and Psychomotor Aspects are available in this textbook. It means that the textbook is relatively suitable to be used as a reference for the teacher in learning and teaching process for student in Junior High School grade VIII.
